Bruce Gilder, P. Eng., CRM
Mr. Gilder graduated from the University of Waterloo with a
degree in Civil Engineering and subsequently qualified as a P.Eng.
Bruce worked for several years in the construction industry prior to joining Aetna Life & Casualty Company where he received extensive training and gained experience in many facets of loss control engineering. He then moved to St. Paul Fire & Marine and finally to Prudential Assurance where he advanced to a position as Loss Control Manager for Canada.
Bruce left Prudential to become Vice-President and Chief Engineer
for the Insurers' Advisory Organization Inc. in 1988. He was responsible
for all aspects of Loss Control Engineering across Canada as well
as managing the Nuclear Insurance Association (NIAC) and the Pollution
Liability Association (PLA).
Bruce Gilder and Ron Allison formed Technical Risk Services
Inc. in early 2001. Bruce is the president of TRS. In addition
to day-to-day operations, he manages accounts and performs some
inspection and risk control consulting work. Bruce’s unique background
and experience have made him well-known in the insurance industry,
and well respected by his peers and senior management.
Ron Allison, CET, CRSP
Mr. Allison is a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute
and received a CET designation in Industrial Engineering Technology.
Ron worked for several years in geophysical exploration for
McPhar Geophysics and Falconbridge prior to joining Chubb &
Son (Federal Insurance Company) in the loss control department.
After extensive training with various schools in the US Ron moved
up to manage the Ontario Loss Control Department.
Ron left Chubb to develop the Ontario Branch Loss Control Department
and eventually taking the role of National Director of Loss Control.
He was responsible for establishing country-wide policy and procedures
as well as developing new products and services in support of
branch operations.
After leaving the company side, Ron joined the brokerage field
at Johnson & Higgins and subsequently Willis Corroon where
he was responsible for Casualty and Environmental consulting services.
Ron continues to manage both casualty and property accounts
as well as complete risk assessment reports and negotiate cost
effective solutions at TRS.
Robert Warren, CRSP, CRM
Mr. Warren is a graduate of the Safety Engineering Technology
program at Humber College, and subsequently earned the designation
of Canadian Registered Safety Professional.
Rob began his career with The Canadian Surety Company, part of
the Transamerica Insurance Group where he received extensive training
in all areas of risk control. He moved to Crum & Forster of
Canada and eventually became the Regional Loss Control Manager.
In subsequent years, Rob gained valuable experience with Marsh
Canada and Johnson & Higgins as a Vice President responsible
for the development and delivery of consulting services with an
emphasis in the areas of Casualty, Environment and Health and
Safety. He also worked for a period of time as a Senior Risk Management
Advisor with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority before
joining Technical Risk Services as a partner in 2003.
Presently Rob manages accounts, completes risk control surveys
and is involved in the delivery of consulting services including
Environment, Health and Safety, and Business Continuity Planning.
Rob’s diversified background enables him to relate to the needs
of insurers, brokers and their clients and to provide risk control
solutions that are suitable for all parties.
